Fabled Home of the Bruno's Memorial Classic

Greystone Golf & Country Club founded by Daniel Corporation

On September 29, 1991, the first tee shots were played at Greystone.  The membership was made up of 150 Charter Members and the Course was set for the Club.

First Bruno's Memorial Classic

In 1992, George Archer won the inaugural playing of what would eventually become the Regions Charity Classic, named by Sports Illustrated as the best run tournament on the Champions Tour and rated the #1 Stop on the Champions Tour.

Club continues to grow

The Club was quickly approaching 600 equity members, the development was nearing capacity, and rumors were running hot about a "Second 18 Holes" at Greystone.  In October of 1998, the membership approved a proposal to build a second course and hired Rees Jones to design our second Championship course.

The Legacy Course is founded

Exactly nine years after the first tee shot was played at the Founders Course, Rees Jones would hit the first tee shot at the Legacy Course.  On September 29, 2000, Greystone Golf & Country Club became the first and only 36-hole equity club in the state of Alabama.  Two months later, the Legacy Clubhouse would open to the same rave reviews.

Expansion to amenities

The new Champions Pool opened to the membership on Saturday, May 26, 2001.  The tennis facility also hosted its grand opening that month.

Club continues to flourish

The Club opened a Fitness Center and added a Toddler Pool to the Aquatics Center - greatly enhancing the golf, swim and tennis programs already in place at Greystone.  The Greystone Gators Swim Team had an undefeated season in 2004 and the Greystone Tennis Team proudly claimed the title of State Champions.

Addition of Two Tennis Hard Courts & Walking Path

In the summer of 2011, the Swim, Tennis & Fitness Committee led the tennis advocates of Greystone in a fundraiser for two additional hard courts to the Tennis Complex.  Through the tremendous support of the membership, the project was completed in late 2012 and a walking path was paved surrounded by beautiful landscaping leading to the Founders Clubhouse patio.  A celebratory ceremony was held to unveil the two new courts and walking path and the lasting tributes of bricks and pavers displaying the names of Greystone’s honorary families.

Founders Patio, Interior Remodel & Men's Lounge Addition

The Facilities Master Plan brought forth three exciting additions to the Founders Clubhouse. First, the patio located at the rear of the clubhouse overlooking signature hole 18.  The multi-use patio is for the enjoyment of Members and their guests, brides and grooms, their families and friends, and tournament players and spectators.  The second project created a tasteful modernization and enhanced the Founders Clubhouse foyer, restrooms, Main Dining Room and Trophy Room. Third, KFP Inc. Construction worked diligently to renovate the Founders Men's Locker Room and create a Men's Lounge with televisions and pub style tables.

Greystone Golf & Country Club announced as Home of the Regions Tradition

The Champions Tour returned to the Founders Course in 2016.  The Regions Tradition will be held at Greystone through 2023. 1. The addition of a Golf Operations Center & Plaza at Founders.
  2. The renovation of the Lower Level of the Founders Clubhouse adding a state-of-the-art Fitness Center, Childcare Facility, contemporary kitchen and bar area, modernized Women’s Locker Room, and more.
