About the Area

Greystone emerged from one company's belief that man and nature could live together in harmony. It was this commitment to preserving the natural environment through carefully planned development that inspired Daniel Corporation to turn 2,000 acres in the foothills of scenic Appalachian Mountains into the beautiful residential golf community it has become today.

The Greystone community is very fortunate to be located where it is: we're just a stone's throw away from Lake Purdy and the Cahaba River, minutes from the beautiful Oak Mountain State Park, and a short drive away from the Talladega National Forest.

You don't need to leave the gates to experience the beauty of Alabama's natural wildlife. Greystone has its own nature preserve trail known to residents as the Blue Bird Trail. This approximately 1.5-mile round trip hike cuts across terrain that is representative of the southern Appalachians. Reaching nearly 1,200 feet in elevation, it also passes through deep coves, giving us a hint of how these forests must have looked prior to their settlement in the 19th century.
